A Letter from Dr. Jim Quirk, PHC Chief Medical Officer

Hello,

We sent you a Health Alert text message because we want you to know about some new and very important recommendations to keep your child protected against RSV (respiratory syncytial virus).

What is RSV?  RSV is a respiratory virus that can cause serious illness in infants, young children, and older adults. It is the leading reason that babies are hospitalized in the United States.

When is RSV season?  Fall and winter.

How can I protect my child from RSV? We strongly encourage you to consider a RSV vaccine for your child. These vaccines are safe, effective, and can protect babies and some toddlers from severe RSV.
Where can I get the RSV vaccine? The RSV vaccine is available at all PHC locations.

What will this vaccine cost? This vaccine will be free or very low cost for most patients. If you are concerned about cost, please call us at 406-258-4789 and our team will work with you to make sure this vaccine is affordable.

Who is the RSV Vaccine recommended for? Please refer to the chart below for vaccine recommendations.

Partnership Health Center respectfully acknowledges that we occupy the traditional homelands of the Séliš, Qĺispé, and Ktunaxa-Ksanka nations. We also recognize that these lands are a site of trade, medicine gathering, healing, and travel for other Native tribes in the area and is still home for many Indigenous people. We extend our gratitude for those who have stewarded this land since time immemorial.

We acknowledge that the health care system has played a role in the oppression of Indigenous peoples. We commit to ongoing learning about the impact of colonization on the health and wellbeing of Indigenous peoples, and we commit to meaningful action that reverses health inequities.
